Man accused of killing Jacksonville teen charged with second-degree murder

Dunn’s attorney, Robin Lemonidis of Melbourne, stated her client “absolutely” saw someone with a shotgun in the red sport-utility vehicle next to his car at the convenience store that night.

Assistant State Attorney Mark Caliel wouldn’t comment on Lemonidis’ statement that a shotgun was pointed at Dunn. But he added that Florida’s Stand Your Ground law may be part of her defense.

“We will wait for the Sheriff’s Office to finish their investigation, review all the evidence, and the State Attorney’s Office will make the appropriate charging decision,” Caliel said. “It is really inappropriate for an attorney to comment on the evidence of a pending case.”

Lemonidis has said the teens drove off after Dunn fired at them, and he fired four shots as they left to “make sure they did not fire the shotgun.” She said the teens apparently got rid of the weapon before returning to the Gate station on Southside Boulevard.

The police haven’t finished their investigation yet.
