re: #278 dangerman

my third grade teacher told my mom id never go to college.

in 8th grade an eye doc figured out i had double vision. my entire life to then. hence i never read books or textbooks - dense paragraphs of text. And hence i never did the homework, etc. and did poorly on most tests. Math was a little different due to the book layouts.

took a year to fix the sight problem.
got a college education, a degree, then cpa and ccp.
also became a water safety instructor, fencing instructor, master scuba instructor
and that’s just the academics

not bad for a kid who was constantly distracted, never paid attention, or studied in third grade.
and not bad considering they offered no remedy or suggestion as to why or what to do. (1965 or so).

You did well. I would have had a much harder time if I had grown up in a different era to be honest with you because my penmanship is just awful. Likewise, I think had I been a bit younger, I probably would have been done better in K-12 school, I was much better academically in college, by then laptops were common to have in lectures.
