OTOH, that’s why I like Fixer Upper and Home Town, much more regular priced homes, something I can relate to.
Fixer Upper buys lower priced homes, but they get their marks on the back end. There’s a clause in the contracts for people who get work done that they have to come in with a minimum of $35K for renovation.
And the whole ‘picking out a house’ segment in the opening is fake. Anyone on that show has already bought the house they ‘end up choosing.’
What I object to as far as the Gainses are concerned is promulgating the illusion that dropping tons of money on fixing up a house is easy and obtainable. And their thinly-veiled Christianity bothers me.
