this AM we had a Queen butterfly bust out of its cocoon, and a Monarch as well

two others came by and laid some eggs

When I was a child, monarch butterflies were an enormous swarm every year. By the time I was an adolescent, they were smaller swarms. As a young adult, I saw a flurry of them every year. Now well into middle age, they’re an occasional thing.
