I generally don’t subscribe to ideas about “American Exceptionalism”, as I think it’s poisonous jingoism to think there’s something inherently better about us vs. the rest of humanity. That being said, we are one of the few places without much of a history of anti-semitism (Leo Frank’s lynching is noted, of course). I suppose being a nation of immigrants makes it less likely that Jews would be singled out as “foreign”.
