Frankly the idea that if you got rid of the minimum wage, wages would go up is just crap. We see how little employers are willing to pay employees as is. Gutting the MW would bring back the Gilded Age era. And honestly, I think it should be mandated that interns be paid. I’ve been an intern. Interns work just as hard as full time employees and in some cases harder since they’re trying to prove themselves to make a good impression and maybe get a full time job with the firm, agency, or whatever.

Right and I’ve seen companies that will bring in an intern for a year or so, get all the free labor they can out of them, then toss them out the door and bring in another intern for a year or so….lather, rinse, repeat.

Hey, why pay for what you can get for free right?
