Police in Austin are paid about $3,000 less than teachers ($54,000 ->$57,000).

Then again, teachers don’t kill any of the people they are pledged to serve.

I”m sure Austin is more expensive than my little shithole of a town, but 54,000 sounds pretty damned good to me.
