Slightly tangential-
I kinda wonder why it is not standard to have professional security people at schools. We have them so many places. Why schools are late to that simple step? As I recall, school buses were late to seatbelt requirements. I think we got that backwards.

Many middle and high schools do have security forces to deal with excessively unruly students. Typically teachers and/or principals can handle discipline on grade-schoolers, so the added expense of having an onsite security force isn’t a priority - especially for cash-strapped school districts.
