No, he honestly believes this shit is true. There is no clever underhanded gambit here. You can safely assume there never is. If there is a big investigation, it will be conducted by the state SoS offices, who, like always, will find a handful of double votes by Republicans with two houses and nothing else. It will benefit us more than him, because now he’s discrediting his own election.

This is what his term will be like. It’s all about ratings and popularity and he will not let stupid stuff like this go, ever. It’s not to distract us from the other shit he is doing because he is distracting himself.

I have to say, I find that to be rather wishful thinking because it assumes that Congressional Republicans will allow this opportunity to pass. They won’t, they are eager to further grow their power and the midterms are about the best chance of doing that for the next 4 years. There are enough Dem seats up for grabs in 2018 that the GOP could theoretically attain a filibuster-proof majority. That is an opportunity that they are not going to let pass them by.
