That’s too bad. I don’t know whether you’re a believer or not, but I can tell you that there are churches that are not like that. I grew up in one - though it didn’t take - and a couple of my siblings have found churches that are the polar opposite.

I’ve met a number of people over the years whose view of Christianity has been shaped by exposure to “Christians”, and it really bothers me that this is becoming the prevailing view, because those “Christians” are SO LOUD.

Of course, being atheist, I really don’t have a god in the fight. But I know it doesn’t have to be like this.

For every church you describe there are now 200 that are religious right propaganda centers where the Pulpit Pimp merely recites the latest Frank Luntz tested RepubliKKKlan Party talking points.

This is why millions of people have walked out of churches and they will NEVER go back. Hopefully that means that these propaganda centers are effectively marginalizing religion and putting it on the path to irrelevance and eventual demise.
