I don’t have to like them, but I thinking ackonwledging them would be OK. i.e., ” When even extreme political opponents like xxx are agreeing with us, you know how bad the current team is.”

Some folks are convertable (or, at least, they can move to the center). Others can’t and won’t. Use positive reinforcement on the former.
