My pastor told a story this Sunday about being in a road guard on a motorcycle ride when a minivan merged onto the freeway at speed into the middle of his pack. He said he came about 6 inches from hitting a friend with his foot peg, at 60 mph, as the guy rolled down the pavement like a loose sausage. The guy’s OK, thankfully, but as you note, you never really know what’s coming, no matter what you’re riding or driving.

I try to keep a careful watch for motorcycles and bicycles. As far as I know, I have not endangered a rider.
