The closest stations to me are McCook, NE and Fort Morgan, CO. I have not used Amtrak before (both stations are quite a way from me, and I find Amtrak’s Website so confusing to figure out how to even get a ticket - and I only recently got a credit card anyway) that it’s more trouble than it’s worth.

If I could go to my local travel agent in Ogallala and buy a ticket in her office I might consider it. Amtrak doesn’t seem to allow travel agents to sell tickets.

Really? I’ve ordered tickets from them, with no problem. You should see what I go through to order Chinese rail tix.

For Amtrak, choose your stations and the date. The site will display a list of stations if you enter just a state abbreviation. Then choose the kind of ticket you want and add it to cart. Enter passenger info. Then pay. Not that hard, really.
