I saw a tweet the other day that said you can make a pretty effective mask from a common vacuum cleaner bag.
I mean, hell, even just fabric from a t-shirt is like 70% effective, if I am remembering figures right. (And this may require layering, etc., etc., please do not quote me as a scientific resource.) But itβs pretty clear that something is better than nothing - and at the same time, the medical front lines need everything they can get, so itβs better for those of us not on those front lines to give them the super-effective stuff and make do with the somewhat less effective stuff.
