That was something I talked to my mom about yesterday… She brought up the idea of reparations yesterday. I told her it wasn’t going to happen, we wouldn’t even pay reparations to our own citizens that we put in internment camps during WW2, we’re not going to pay them to Cuba. But she is reflexively anti-Obama in a way that I cannot understand or explain.

actually… we did pay reparations to Japanese-Americans for the camps. It happened during the Reagan Administration.

Congress first passed an appropriation for money; they said money isn’t enough, we really want an apology. It went back to Congress, they passed an appropriation with an apology, and Reagan made a speech that included an apology, then they accepted the money.
