I don’t want Obama to scream and yell, and that would have disappointed me even more. But Donald Trump didn’t suddenly become qualified for the Oval Office, and after months of appropriately calling him out as unfit to be president, I really wish Obama had said something to reach out to his base of progressives and liberals. Because like many other people, I’m not just unhappy about Trump taking office, I’m frightened and I’m not ashamed to say so.

Obama is a thoughtful man and that’s why I’ll always see him as the best president of my lifetime. But I can’t help being disappointed at politician-speak right now. This country is in real danger.

Would you have felt better if Obama had said we were all screwed because Trump got elected?

I’m asking because I genuinely don’t understand what people appear to have wanted out of Obama, just that they are disappointed that they didn’t get it.
