When one looks at Twitter’s top story for the top trend #RacistPresident… the story picked by Twitter is an opinion piece from the SCMP, a news outlet now owned by an organization associated with the Chinese government:

Donald Trump’s racist vitriol appeals to his base. Expect more of it

Now the writer is a regular for the SCMP, though he is a native English speaker not from China.

Still, it’s in the interests of many to highlight problems in the US… and there is no problem bigger than Trump.

The Soviet Union pretty much invented whataboutism by deflecting from its human rights abuses by pointing to American Jim Crow to assert we had no moral authority lecturing them.

There’s no reason to think Communist China wouldn’t do the same with the racism of the Republican Party.
