The Cameron Peak Fire near Rocky Mountain National Park has now surpassed 200,000 acres burned. Fire crews are hoping a shift in the winds and predicted snow will help them extinguish the fire.
Several other fires in Colorado have burnt tens of thousands of acres.
Currently the weather in Fort Collins (near the fire) is 28°F (-2°Commie). Daytime temperatures will be in the upper sixties and night in the lower forties. A chance of rain and snow is predicted Thursday night.
Currently the winds are calm in northern Colorado and western Nebraska (though we had sleet and snow last night), but will kick up from the southwest this afternoon, bringing the smoke into my area again. The current AQI here is 28.
