He went on to plug his book, “41: A Portrait of My Father,” an ode to the elder Bush, released last year. “It’s important to be a humble winner, and I find that relationship to be very instructive,” he said, referring to Mr. Clinton’s friendship with his father. “That’s why I spent a fair amount of time in Chapter 7 on it.”
