Here’s the thing that honestly pisses me off the most about the trans bathroom issue. The right made this into an issue. They spread the idea that transgendered people are sex criminals at a much higher rate than the general population. And because of that they’ve inspired hate and violence against transpeople. Transgendered people have it tough as is.

Transgender people are thrown into the same pile as other groups conservatives need their voters to hate:

Liberals hate America (or the military, or want free stuff)
LGBT want special rights
Immigrants are taking your jobs
&c
