Thanks for posting! I greatly appreciate the curated recomendations.
For me, music from the many Asian cultures has generally been inaccessible. I admit that I lack the cultural and linguistic knowledge to fully appreciate it. Which is a darn shame, as the civilizations, history, and cultures are among the richest in humanity.
Google translate helps a bit. But still has a long way to go.
Now to do a little internet poking on this song. So much beauty in this world, and such limited time to learn and appreciate it.
It was a big hit at a time I was living there. I once knew it for karaoke, but need to refresh my memory. Maybe I’ll try a bit of translating later (I’m supposed to be doing some of that now, but it’s a snow day and I’m playing a bit). Here’s something bizarre—kind of “hard-boiled Pooh.”
It’s worth reading the whole thing.
Her name was Kanga and she was trouble. She came into my office as I was about to dip into a honeypot. I liked honey the way priests love God.
“You are Pooh? The detective?” she said.
“I live under the name of Sanders. What’s it to you?”
“My boy,” she said. “Roo. He’s missing.”— Lavie Tidhar (@lavietidhar) March 6, 2018
