That makes me think that CFA lost major market share over the recent chicken sandwich war between them and Popeyes after Popeyes Chicken sandwiches sold out repeatedly.

It’s an interesting question. Looks like CFA’s revenue in 2018 was in the $10b range. Popeyes is now owned by Burger King conglomerate whose total revenue for BK/Tim Hortons/Popeyes is about half that of CFA.
