Eh, in the end, they were a road bump. Had the Soviets stayed out, Poland might have lasted a few more months. But without a second front being opened on Sept 2? Nope. No difference long term.

Now had the French army rolled into western Germany immediately? That would have probably gotten Hitler hung by the generals desperate to avoid the mistakes of 1914.
