Oh and another thing - the Czechs who don’t fall for homeopathy during flu season? Yeah, they demand antibiotics from their doctors….this, despite the fact that antibiotics are not useful for treating viral illnesses such as influenza. Antibiotics should only be used if there are bacterial complications such as bacterial pneumonia , an ear infection, or maybe sinusitis. Antibiotics often have side effects and worse yet, misuse of antibiotics can easily lead to the development of antibiotic resistance.

But of course, no one here wants to hear that shit. And when I tell them, they’re like, “Yeah, but you’re not a doctor” and hand-wave it away, despite the fact that such information can be easily found with a cursory search on Google or whatnot.
