Ted, there were legal and legitimate methods of asking the Ukrainian gov’t to investigate the Bidens for potential charges of corruption. Why did Trump use none of those? Because he didn’t want an investigation, he wanted the announcement of one because he felt that having his opponent under the shadow of such helped him last go around. If he actually got an investigation going, there was the worry that one or both men would be cleared before the election, which would help them and hurt him.
