It’s the same impulse that leads to road rage incidents - something about driving a car/truck makes some people feel like being cut off by other cars, or slowed down by cyclists, or stopped by a protest, is an egregious personal attack that merits lethal force.

I’m not sure it’s exactly the same thing, because this kind of mindset seems too calculated and too cold to simply be a rage trigger. It seems like a whole step above the kind of pathology that road rage comes out of.
