Another reason I think it’s Pence is that it makes sense that he’d be at a crisis point where he somehow thought throwing gasoline on the dumpster fire of the administration was the only way he might ever be President. All of the other suspects would obviously prefer order over Trump’s chaos and I’m sure they’re frustrated and hoping to ameliorate Trump’s worst tendencies just as the op-ed says, but to my mind none of them have the perfect alignment that Pence does of cui bono, myopia and ego.
