She’d be inserting herself now by refusing to go along with Boris’ rank bullshit, so I don’t see how that creates some precedent that obligates her to act on behalf of any future PM. The only precedent she’d be setting is “hey, just don’t fucking insult me by flagrantly lying straight to my goddamned face and expect me to go along with it.”

Prorogation has generally been a formality, the PM requesting such and the Crown granting it. And PMs have requested it in the past for less than savory reasons, generally to avoid politically damaging votes or even to avoid votes of no confidence. If Boris had lost a vote of no confidence or there were evidence that he was requesting prorogation for illegal reasons, she might have a reason to deny such. But holding off votes in the Parliament in order to run down the clock, however unsavory it may be to Liz, is not grounds to deny the request.
