I’ve just spent some time with the creationists (which as I’ve asserted before is somewhat akin to spending time at an asylum) and come here and whamo y’all are tackling more of the same…

I’ve been trying to formulate a good summary of what is going on in this country, now, as far as politics and such, and I’m really centering in on how our society is going through and existential crisis of sorts. The old way, the old views, which are for example being pushed in the quoted comment in Charles’ write-up, are fighting back against what is becomingly clearly a losing battle for them.

Modernity has been overwhelming to many. The changes that have occurred in the last 100 years have been significant. They really do call into question the patriarchal religion that for almost 1700 years has been dominant in the West.
