That’s the cosmic joke it all, that Sarah’s got a better political head on her shoulders than Bachmann, but lacks the same sort of conviction to see things through. I honestly believe that, had she taken a presidential run seriously, and not as a means to continue milking the rubes, she could have been at least a contender. May not have won the nomination, but she’d given the eventual winner a real run for his/her money.
Instead, she’s slowly burning out, seemingly relegated to being a voice on FNC. And Bachmann’s practically destined to either flame out spectacularly, Dean-style, or slowly flicker and fade into nothingness.
She who hesitates is lost. But even if Sarah Palin fades away, she won’t be remembered as a lunatic, as Bachmann will be.
