In Florida, the prosecution isn’t limited to the specific charge they originally bring regarding a given victim. In this case, not only did the judge order the jury to consider Second Degree murder, he ordered them to consider MANSLAUGHTER.
They still hung.
Someone on that jury considered shooting a young unarmed black man to be completely justifiable.
