The whole thing I think shows that McCain has shitty judgment ultimately and man am I glad he’s not president every day since we’d probably be at war with Russia several times over had he been in charge given that McCain is prone to rash decision making rather than making the calculated move.

The very first decision a President makes is before they’re even elected. It’s when they select their running mate. That tells you a lot about their judgement and their decision making process.

Obama chose a guy who had a reputation for shooting his mouth off but who had a Rolodex to kill for. That meant he had someone on his side who could say the things he can’t (or won’t) say and who knew who to talk to and where the bodies are buried. McCain chose someone that gave the RWNJs “starbursts” and who he cynically believed would peel off women from the Dems. One made a long-term choice and the other only thought about winning the election.
