And on some level I get it. I generally oppose imperialism of all kinds, and there are modern historical cases where I believe that forceful opposition to Western imperialism was commendable. Like for instance, when Mohammed Mossadegh was elected prime minister of Iran and nationalized Iran’s oil industry to stop Great Britain’s exploitation of that resource. Great Britain had no right to that oil, and the 1953 Iran Coup was easily the most despicable thing Eisenhower did as president.
