I’ll be going back up in a few months if I can…as much as I gab about my little home town, it’s difficult to visit for various reasons…anyway my entire life revolves around my bad leg…time to ditch it I think, but I’m too scared to make the call, I’m getting closer tho

There was a show on TV the other night about this charity that arranges adventure hikes for Afghanistan/Iraq war veterans who have lost a leg (or both). Quite a few of them have summited places such as Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, or McKinley. Now these are young men who started out at the peak of physical fitness, but still, the prostheses these days are clearly way, way better than those of ten or twenty years ago.
