At least he had to pay the vet bill. You probably have a pretty solid case for him having to “replace” the dog (I know full well that an animal can never be truly replaced).

A neighbor stopped by when he saw one of them eating my dog. The animal control officer came by a little while later and met both dogs in my yard. They were growling and barking at her. She is mad too. The idiot left both his back door and front doors open so the dogs just ran out. Imagine if my daughters were waiting for the bus.
