GWB was on deck when the North detonated its first nuke, and his approach was more sanctions. Same with his successor.

The North is using the nukes as an extortion plot to wring concessions of some form from the West, all while reminding everyone that they still exist as a boil on the ass end of space. All while the South moves ahead with technical sophistication and a modern economy and technological sophistication, all the North manages is to rattle its self-imposed cage with nuclear temper tantrums and propaganda videos that crib western music and video games.

That’s all while most of North Korea can barely feed itself and the North still runs a gulag archipelago for those who question the regime.
