Honestly, it’s like enough of the American electorate in the states that mattered went, fuck it, we’re voting for the troll.

There’s a lot of nihilism going around. Lots of people were disappointed the world didn’t end in 2000, were disappointed when the Black Guy in the White House won two elections, were disappointed they’re less and less influential. A lot of people decided they wanted to watch the world burn, and they figured at least Trump would be entertaining while he was setting the world alight.
