At the moment Heath Mello is running for Mayor of Omaha against wingnut Republican incumbent mayor Jean Stothert. Heath Mello’s position on abortion has little to bear on a city election, and Omaha would be far better off with Stothert ousted (she is really despised in Omaha).

Amongst other things, rather than spend money on street repairs, Mayor Stothert instead pushed for (and got) grinding up the pavement in downtown Omaha and turning the streets to gravel. Omaha is now the largest city in the country with downtown gravel streets. (Lincoln has gravel streets, but they were never paved.)
