re: #290 Mattand

Yeah, that’s the key when considering all electric. I looked at my driving habits and realized I was rarely taking long trips. The longest commute I recently had was to Wilmington, DE, which 80 miles round trip. I could go two days in normal weather before having to recharge.

Speaking of weather: that will definitely affect battery life. The Bolt’s battery is rated for 238 miles. In that abnormal Arctic weather we had on the East Cost, the range dropped to 160. On the plus side, with the the early summer temps we’re having now, my range is creeping up to 260.

I honestly do think that if people are driving 100 miles a day or less, they should really look at an electric car, and I have a major thumbs up for the Bolt.

It’s not the typical commute that is a problem — it’s the occasional much longer trip. I don’t necessarily want to rent a car for a day when I’m traveling 250 miles.
