Nana - I have also discovered that doctors often don’t know about the interactions of medications nearly as well as the pharmacist, and nothing beats reading the materials that come with your prescription.

There is a particular antibiotic that is not supposed to be taken with the cholesterol medication. I only knew this because I read the material that came with the prescription before taking the antibiotic. Now I know to stop taking the cholesterol med when I have to take that antibiotic; but neither the pharmacist nor my doctor said the first thing about it. ALWAYS READ THE INSERTS.

Exactly. And I am a retired RN…but the meds they use today? So many are given without even checking the patient’s allergies. I have had 2 events over the years before the inserts. I do not know if every State requires them. I would hope they do.

I dare not even think of what it will be like under Obama Care…
