They’ll invalidate SB 8 in Texas, and uphold the Mississippi law, enabling restrictions down to 16 weeks. And the Court will be cheered for this, even as womens rights are restricted due to the imposition of a religious belief about conception and life that is not grounded in fact or science.

Totally upending the careful compromise that the Burger court reached in putting the original cut-off at 23 weeks, where medical science said (and still says) that most fetuses are considered “viable” and thus can survive outside the womb. But you can be sure that there will be quickly be voices aplenty in the legacy media praising such a move and insisting that pro-choice folks accept this new “compromise” because the alternative was allowing total bans.
