He’s faced the reality that there is no way Cruz will become president even if could get the nomination. Now, Chuck thinks Cruz should bargain with Trump to be the VP, to be “next in line,” as it were.

TBH, I think Trump echoes Chuck’s socio-political beliefs more closely than Cruz does. His switching to the Trump side is not all that surprising.

And Trump’s campaign manager linking to his site probably also helped. UpChuck is nothing if not vain.
