I think it’s actually pretty cool how a lot of the Brit invasion bands grew up listening to American blues and then reinterpreted it. It’s because of the Stones that I got into Robert Johnson. Everyone knows the Stones but not everyone knows Johnson.

I got into Robert Johnson because my ex was far more into hardcore blues than I ever was and she had a copy of the Complete Recordings with that photo of him on the cover. I gave a listen and became far more interested in real blues than I ever had before. Still can’t play em worth a damn though.
