I figure that some day we’ll be able to “grow” meat in some kind of conscious-less free form. I’m sure the Japanese will be the first. They’re already doing this but I don’t feel like searching for it right now.

Which should make it interesting to see whether grown meat will hold to the scifi prediction, namely that it is nowhere near as appetizing as the real thing because of something unique to raising live animals.
