My point is that “it” did survive - and today we call it Christianity.

The core of Christianity is the teachings of variants of Jewish sects from the early to mid 1st century. Add heavy doses of Hellenic philosophy, and a few other pagan practices here and there… and Voil!

Their policy of “borging” pagan holidays into the Christian calendar was a masterful step. We reject your supernatural beings and substitute our own - who just so happen to celebrate festivals on the same days!
