It took the Floriduh Senators just 20 minutes to flip their vote. Someone must have reminded them that they’re owned by the NRA. #MoneyOverKids https://t.co/gyShy7sKse

Unfu…. nope. It’s unfuckingbelievable.
GOP votes on voice vote for a moratorium on AR-15 sales for 2 years. Minutes later they reverse course.
Did they not read what they were voting on? Or did the NRA yank their chain. And if they did, Florida voters need to yank the GOP’s chain even harder and send them into the dustbin of history.
Florida has among the weakest gun laws in the nation, and their per capita death rate from gun violence is higher than many states.
Any gun control measures would end up reducing gun deaths (and reduce health care costs too).
Now, when the NRA meets for their annual conference, the gun violence rate declined nationally during the duration of the conference.
Consequentialist epidemiology in the @NEJM
I can think of a fantastic public health intervention — let’s make the @NRA annual convention a year-long affair. Everyone else in the country would benefit enormously.https://t.co/pnmeNqIj9e— Alvaro Alonso (@alonso_epi) March 1, 2018
