This morning, the DJ on my morning radio station was reading the story about Starbucks’ announcment that they’ll discontinue plastic straws by the year 2020. He added an aside about how that was a good idea, but why would it take until 2020 to stop. Couldn’t they do it today? It sounds like they intend to redesign their entire delivery system before they’re willing to stop providing plastic straws.

They have a warehouse full of bulk-purchase plastic straws they need to send to the ocean before they’re done with them.
