I’ll tell you what triggers me about the US flag. All the “patriotic” morons who leave their dirty shredded flag up 24/7. They violate the Flag Code in every conceivable way but tell you what great americans they are.

I am patriotic and I fly five flags at all times 24x7, at my house and attached farm and disc golf courses, named the Red, White and Blue Disc Golf Courses.

The Flag Code is not law that can be enforced, it is merely a suggested etiquette for behavior regarding the flag. No law, can’t be enforced. Mostly comes from ways to keep enlisted men busy.

Not to mention that is etiquette that was considered appropriate back when my wife would be have been known as “Mrs ‘My First Name’ 7-y” which, thankfully, is a bit outdated.

And my favorite reason why I never take my flags down: Read the lyrics to the national anthem about the Star Spangled Banner. That famous flag flew all night!
