Of course he is right militarily if the only intention is to pacify the country for a short time and then withdraw after winning battles. But wrong as it is an unwinnable war and there is no intention of winning. It is obscene to escalate under those circumstances.

I believe the intention was to defeat the insurgency. That theory can’t be tested until we leave the country.
