Nidal Hasan is still on trial? Seriously?

Yeah, these trials take forever but it’s not always the fault of the courts or prosecution. In Hassan’s case the defense has been asking for extensions, he’s dicking around with legal arguments about his beard, etc. I think the defense sometimes strings these things out because his confinement conditions are better now than the isolation in supermax he’d destined for. At least now he gets out all the time, gets driven to the court, gets to see people. Once the trial is over he’ll have nothing to do.
